Merdeka Acts Of Kindness Card

Tomorrow is a special day for all of us. It’s YWA Tuesday and it’s the election day in Permatang Paun. The whole nation will be watching the election’s result. Let’s keep our country in prayers and ask God to bring up leaders who are righteous and who dare to stand up for righteous!

God bless y’all!

What we were up to during Phileo PG! :)

Hey guys!!

Here are some updates on our PG! :)

Yesterday, Pam, Samuel and I got together over lunch in Commons Cafe and we were very careful in choosing a table quite near the entrance to avoid leaving the restaurant smelling like food! We started out discussing random topics such as donation scams, workload, our week, the past weekend, our next makan place for pg, basically, the usuals.

Then the conversation took quite a turn when Pam mentioned about her hometown trip last weekend. It suddenly dawned on us that we are all from Penang!! So what do Penangites talk about when they get together?? We gossipped (O.o) about food la~!! It was so easy to relate to one another on this as we are familiar with the places back at home and agreed on the same stalls which we deem sell the best of Penang delicacies!! We went on and on about food that it nearly made the lunch served before us seemed uninteresting.

BUT we did not end there, before we trudged back to our own offices (dreaming of Penang food), Pam reminded us again about the purpose of having PGs. We also discussed about how we are going to carry out our mini AOK project sempena hari Merdeka. We’ve decided that this time around, we are going to bless the people who we think are ‘less appreciated’ in this community. They would be the cleaners, sweepers, waiters, nearly all of which are international labourers. We will be giving out packet milo’s (the easiest and most malaysian thing we can think of.haha!) with messages tied with ribbons around them. the messages will be to thank them for their contribution to this country/thank them for their service here and to just tell them that we do notice them and that we appreciate what they do.

We then prayed for one another and also for more open doors and more people (esp our colleagues) to join us for our PG next time around!!

No doubt, it was fun having just the 3 of us, but let us always be reminded that we’re not doing this for ourselves but we must always keep a look out for THE ONE as well!! Let’s continue pushing on yea!!

A recap on our super awesome Phileo PG

Just a recap on what is happening in Phileo PG this week. SamYeoh, Samuel, and I met up in Purnama, Phileo 1 and spoke about a great deals of things like:

(1) Acts of Kindness (Merdeka Special)
- This time around, we would like to bless others (our colleagues and people who are the least appreciated in the marketplace like the coffeeshop waiters/security guards/cleaning lady and thank them for contributing to our country.
- Having said that, the 3 of us will compile the list of people that we would like to bless so that we can decide on what to bless them with.

(2) Wall of Influence (WOI)
- The Phileopians are eager to lend a hand to build the WOI next week.

(3) Changing our Phileo PG to Tuesday & where to eat next week
- SamYeoh mentioned that her company frequently has company lunches on Wednesday.
- Because we would like to meet SamYeoh and also her colleagues during PG, we think it will be best if we move our PG to Tuesday (which is also YWA Tues).
- Next week, we have a special guest joining us. She is none other than Ari from Indonesia! We are planning a car trip to SS2 to makan and have a rockin’ time!

(4) Passion Conference
- SamYeoh was sharing with us on the awesome God-perience she had in Passion Conference last Sunday!
- She also shared what Pr Mike Giglio was sharing about this girl who hates the world and how she came to know Christ and saw transformation in her life. Her salvation was because her roommate was persistently sowing into her life. This girl had passed away recently but praise God that she is now living with Jesus!

(6) ACTSperiment/ Revo Conference KL
- We are all excited over ACTSperiment and waiting eagerly for Revo Conference!

(7) Subang PG’s testimonies

- I was sharing with the PG today on how Subang PG is experiencing God’s favour in their workplace with testimonies at work.
- We would like to experience the same thing and in fact, see our colleagues experience God’s favour when we pray together with them!

So we ended our PG with powerful prayers for one another and for those who couldn’t join us. However, because we didn’t have enough of an awesome time together, we decided to spare some time to visit a nearby Salvation Bookstore before we finally parted.

So amazingly blessed by God,
pamchoo D.V.

Yo dudes,

This gathering was a really special gathering.  This gathering is special because:

1) The food was cheap and great. We ate at ‘Happy Chef’. We had our plates FULL of food and it only cost us between RM3 and RM4. Our wish is that more restaurants would charge this kind of affordable prices……

2) This gathering so happen to be an all guy meeting. We had Samuel, Alwyn and myself. The ladies couldn’t make it this time around. We took this opportunity to talk about issues effecting guys. We had great sharing where we talked about our college days, dating, girlfriends and how to look for the ‘right one’. I shared with the group how to look for the ‘right one’ and not to wait too long for the ‘right one’ to arrive. We all agreed that God is so good that He gives us choices in life and He give us freedom to choose our life partner. Thus we should be wise in making the decision in choosing our life partner.

We ended the gathering with a prayer for each and everyone of the PG.

Cheers.

Karl

Phileo PG Makan Aftermath

The Phileopians had an awesome makan time last Wednesday at MIX Cafe, Phileo 1. The moment the three of us (Karl, Samuel, and myself) sat down at our table, we excitedly shared our experiences gained from Prayer Service, which happened the night before. Although each of us had different revelations from God, we all agreed that God’s presence was really strong that night. Our conversations proceeded to discuss our financial struggles as young working adults and brother Karl shared an interesting insight to the reason behind our country’s stagnant salary. We ended our PG, praying for one another and for our country.

PRAYERS ANSWERED: We want to give all praise to God and Phileo PG will end our fast in celebration today! On Tuesday, when we heard about our brother’s daughter’s more critical condition, we decided to fast and pray together for her. On Thursday night, we received the wonderful news that her blood test was back to normal and she will be discharged today! God has healed her completely! He is our Healer!

Even as we end our fast today, let’s not stop praying with our brother and his family. Let’s pray for complete healing in each of the family members because prayer is powerful and nothing is impossible for God!

Praising the Lord,
Pamchoo D.V.

On the 16th of July, Wed, we met at Village Cafe in Phileo 1 for our PG. Those who came were:

1) Pam Choo
2) Samuel
3) Alwyn
4) Sam Yeoh
5) Ari (Sam’s counterpart all the way from Indonesia!!!)

On lunch that day, we are glad to have Alwyn joining us and also for Ari, a colleague of SamY, who stop-by later together with SamY. At the meeting, we share about our and also life experiences. It is interesting to hear on how people are willing to take some jobs which are not attractive but to build up their future career and their portfolio. Sometimes, it is something that we have consider in life as we give and take. For me, it is a learning experience for a beginning YWA. Other than that, we have also talk about food and imagining you have limitless credit card ‘o’… We ended the PG with a wholesome prayer for one another.

Thank you all for coming and hope to meet up with the rest of you next week!

From,

Samuel

Yesterday, we, Phileopians met at Commons Cafe for our PG. Those we came were:
1) Karl
2) Samuel
3) Sam Yeoh
4) Pam Choo

During lunch, Sam Yeoh shared about her whole family’s salvation! Just over 3 years, God brought the entire family into His Kingdom! Praise the Lord for a great testimony! Through Him, nothing is impossible!

We even had a great discussion on real topics like migrating to foreign land or staying in Malaysia. Personally, I have not been able to understand why people would want to leave Malaysia but having to hear the issues that our country is going through, it opened my naive eyes to the sufferings of others. And then, I realize our marketplace PGs are more than what it seems. As God’s ambassador, it is not easy to be the beacon of light (the salt, the hope) at our workplace. It’s especially not easy to encourage our colleagues when we are also in the same hole, getting distracted and all. That’s why, we have our brothers and sisters from PGs to encourage us to trust in Him and not to give up the good work!

Thank you all for sharing your hearts today!

Looking forward to the next meeting,
Pamchoo D.V.
